I met the young, Maui-based model Ani at a photography picnic upcountry. It was a wonderful event where Maui photographers and Maui-based models got together and exchanged creative ideas and got to know each other a little more personally. The event was put on by the Facebook group "Maui Photographers".
This was my first time working with Ani and she had a lot of creative pose ideas that aesthetically matched her outfit!
Ani, was sporting an outfit made by the local Hawaii clothing company Wahine Koa that empowers wāhine (woman) with Aloha.
I typically avoid shooting portraits during the day here in Hawaii because of the heat and the dark shadows. However, today was an overcast day and the lighting was perfection! I could not be more happy on how these portraits turned out!
